Links
(Updated 2/14/2003)

On the web there are some large list of links to Candida resources. Rather than duplicate them here, I will simply list the most important links and those pages which themselves contain a large number of links.

This list is not intended as an endorsement of any particular site. I have listed these only because the web-sites have useful information.

This page contains the most comprehensive write-up on CRC of any page I have seen on the web.

The Yeast Connection

This is the web-site for Dr. Crook and his book on Candida. Unfortunately, a rather useful forum was discontinued.

This site is small so far but interesting.

Great Forums to Discuss Candida and CFS with Others

RainCity Candida Forum

This forum is a great place to exchange information with other Candida sufferers.

Candida Listserv at St. John's University

Probably the busiest Candida forum. It is a bit complicated to join and use. It is a listserv forum.

Yahoo CFS and Fibromyalgia Groups

Local Support Groups

Center for Disease Control page for local support groups.

Find a local support group, or register one.

Testing Labs

Great Smokies Diagnostic Lab

This lab has an excellent reputation.  It has a good food allergy blood test, and an innovative adrenal test.  I cannot recommend their Candida test at this time.

Antibody Assay Labs

This site contains excellent information about Candida blood testing. They offer the Candida Immune Complexes blood test which is the most reliable test.

Better Health USA

This is the site of a blood-testing lab. Information is therefore somewhat biased. It is rather expensive though they will make it easy on you by arranging for someone near you to draw blood. It also has a forum where people can ask questions of knowledgeable personnel.

Meridian Valley Labs

This lab also has an excellent food allergy test.

York Nutritional Laboratory

This lab in the United Kingdom also has very good information on allergy blood testing.

Pharmaceutical Sites

Claritin Site

Claritin is a prescription antihistamine that does not cause drowsiness.  Candida and CFS sufferers frequently find it provides some relief.  The Claritin site provides mold counts which may be useful to the Candida sufferer.

Allegra Site

Like Claritin, Allegra is a prescription antihistamine that does not cause drowsiness.   Candida and CFS sufferers frequently find it provides some relief.

Zyrtec Site

Allegra is another competitor to Allegra and Claritin and may provide relief.

Midrin Information

Migraine medications can often help fatigue.  Fatigue is sometimes caused by a condition called "migraine equivalent".  It is difficult to diagnose.   Midrin is an older medication.  The main side-effect is that it can temporarily cause drowsiness itself.

Imitrex site

Information on the Imitrex migraine medication.

Books and Videos on CFS

The Wellness Books Site

Zoe's Win

This book proposes a possible explanation for sudden onset CFS.  This is a book I have not yet read, but the idea sounds interesting.   My CFS had a slow onset, but that is the exception and not the rule.  Most people suffer an illness which the CDC suspects is viral in nature followed by CFS.   This book contains some interesting ideas on this.
